The Kasteel Ammersoyen, not far from 's-Hertogenbosch, is one of the best preserved medieval water castles in the Netherlands.

It is open from April to October from Tuesday to Sunday between 11am and 5pm. Admission costs 9.50 euros for adults and half for children. Further information can be found at ammersoyen.glk.nl

Ammersoyen Castle, built around 1350 by the Van Herlaer family, was largely destroyed by a fierce fire in 1590. There is a whole story attached to that....
After that, the castle stood there for almost 50 years as a desolate ruin. But Thomas Walraven van Arkel made it habitable again.

Built in 1350 and rebuilt in the 17th century, the castle is a conference and party center, but can be visited with a guide. It is one of the best preserved medieval water castles in the Netherlands.
