The "Girl with a water jug" has disappeared from the Forst Rosengarten since World War II. Only a few blurred black-and-white photos remained of the once influential figure. For the 110th anniversary of the garden, work is now being carried out on the reconstruction - using unusual methods. "After we sponsored the cascade fountain for the 100th anniversary, we now wanted to contribute to the 110th anniversary and decided on the 'girl with the water jug'," explains Hans-Rainer Engwicht from the association. Stefan Palm explains why this figure is so important: “Several historical sculptures have been lost in the rose garden. But in the case of the girl with the water jug, the former surroundings are still there, so that the old situation can be reconstructed one-to-one in line with the preservation of historical monuments. The plan includes restoring the entire area around the pergola courtyard with beds and plants true to the original - with the renewed sculpture as the focal point.
