Brynich Aqueduct carries the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal over the River Usk. After the green light was given for the aqueduct to be built in 1799, no time was wasted and it opened the following year. The aqueduct has four arches and is 201 feet (64 m) long and 31 feet (9.5 m) wide.

This is a beautiful aqueduct near Brynich lock on the outskirts of Brecon to take the canal over the River Usk. It is about as scenic a place as you can get in the Brecon Beacons National Park. There are great views up and downstream, and the aqueduct itself is very scenic. It is a popular place to hook up your barge for the night here, so there is always the odd barge or two here to add to this scenic wonderland.

Brynich Aqueduct is an early nineteenth century stone aqueduct crossing the River Usk with four arches and three cutwaters. The aqueduct is 73 metres (80 yards) long and it was extensively restored in 1996. ... The aqueduct was constructed to carry the Brecon and Abergavenny Canal over the Usk between 1797 and 1800.
