From mid-September to mid-October you can spot bellowing red deer from this spot. A true experience (and usually a lot of people with super large lenses on the platforms. :-)

The Weerderheide Lookout Tower is located in the heart of the Weerterheide nature reserve, near Maarheeze, and offers a magnificent panoramic view of the vast heathlands and forests of North Brabant. From the tower, you have a wide view of the landscape, clearly recognizable by the contours of the heathland, the surrounding forests, and several fens.

The area around the tower is rich in typical heathland vegetation and provides habitat for many birds and small mammals. Hikers can enjoy quiet paths through alternating forests and open heathland, with places along the way to rest and enjoy the tranquility of the landscape.

The tower is an ideal destination for those who love nature, tranquility, and beautiful views, and is a highlight of any walk through the Weerderheide. It's also a great spot for photography, especially in the early morning or at sunset, when the light beautifully colors the heathland.
