From the market square the large front gate stands out. Most of the mosque is not immediately visible. To see the minaret you have to step back a little.
It is also possible to step through the gate into the courtyard and get a closer look. But visitors are not allowed into the mosque.
Built in 1716 by traders from Kashmir. It was largely destroyed in 1959 during the Tibetan Uprising, but quickly restored and rebuilt.
During the Cultural Revolution it was repurposed as a committee office. It resumed its religious functions in 1978.
