Medieval Weleveld is a special exhibition with 35 life-size steel statues that depict life around 1300. It shows historical figures such as the nobility, clergy and villagers in medieval clothing and scenes. Visitors can walk freely through this field and thus get an impression of the social relations and daily life on the estate. A must for those who want to see history come to life in a rustic environment.

Weleveld estate appears early in history. In 1244 Godfried van Weleveld is mentioned. Over the centuries, the estate and its residents have played an important role in Twente history. Nowadays Weleveld is best known for the beautiful typical Twente nature where many recreationalists like to come for walking or cycling. The aim is to preserve high-quality nature and agriculture and to make the rich past visible. In this way, Weleveld can continue to feed, entertain and amaze many people in future centuries.
