On the site of Bischofshol, a watchtower for the Landwehr of the city of Hanover was built around 1460, which was first mentioned in 1461 ("by dem nigen Torne hegen des Bischuppes holt"). The bishop of Hildesheim was meant with the first part of the name.
A trip via Bischofshol is always worthwhile, in summer you can sit in the beer garden and watch football, and the indoor restaurant is also very nicely furnished. Here you can also celebrate wonderfully and if you don't want to go home, you can sleep in the hotel.
