As a landscape marker for the first front lines, tall trees were planted, always equipped with a metal tree basket. The specific planting locations were determined after scientific research based on aerial photography and map research.
To recognize the memorial trees, they were provided with a metal tree basket. These are each provided with a sober color signal, based on the color use of the Allied front line maps. Tree baskets on the British front line will have a blue top edge, the tree baskets on the German front line will have a red top edge. On each hive you will find an information board with historical aerial photographs and the location of the concrete front line.
