Impressive spring that bubbles even in dry times. The amount of water varies greatly, however. In 1953, almost 36 liters of water per second were flowing out here, but almost forty years later it was only about 300 milliliters.

In contrast to the Schinderkopf spring to the north, the spring pot flows even in the driest times. Its flow rate fluctuates considerably, however. SCHUSTER recorded a flow rate of 36 //s in July 1953, whereas VÖLKER measured 0.3 l/s in November 1992.
The water outlet is a real karst spring, which is confirmed by the high sulphate content of 1210 mg/l. The high nitrate content of 34 mg/ (1993) indicates the connection with the underground course of the Jauchebach.
The stream disappears again 50 m south of the site, only to flow underground into the Krummbach spring.
