Catholic Sacred Heart Church, Rorschach
At the end of the 19th century, Rorschach had around 13,000 inhabitants (embroidery at its peak). There was not enough space in the Mariaberg Chapel, as well as in the parish church of St. Kolumban. The architect August Hardegger from St. Gallen was commissioned to draw up a project for a second church. Construction began in 1895, and the inauguration took place on May 25, 1899 by the Bishop of St. Gallen, Augustinus Egger.
