The current town hall was built in 1895, not as a town hall, but as an administrative building. It only later became the seat of the city administration. The building follows the architectural principles of the Neo-Renaissance style, characterized by richly decorated facades, symmetrical design, and representative elements.

A particularly striking feature of the building is its tall tower, crowned by a lantern, which makes the town hall visible from afar. An architectural feature is the tower portal, which is older than the building itself. It was retained from an earlier building and testifies to the city's long history.
