The Remstal Viaduct between Waiblingen and Neustadt was built between 1875 and 1876 and spans the Rems River between Neustadt and Hohenacker. The viaduct is part of the Murr Valley Railway, is 45 meters high and 240 meters long, and was opened in 1876. Neustadt was given its own station.
On April 21, 1945, a section of the viaduct was senselessly blown up by members of the Wehrmacht. However, the viaduct was repaired by the summer of 1946 by installing a temporary support pier.
