The families mainly look at local animal species on the grounds of the zoo in Salzwedel. The zoo is located in the Park of Peace. Around 100 animals live on the approximately 1.5 hectare site. There are around 20 species among them.
These include, for example, pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs, which families like to watch. The red deer are also cavorting around in the enclosure and wild boars are lounging on the ground.
Feeding the animals is not permitted in Salzwedel Zoo.
