The Fisktorget was used as a market place for over 300 years. Initially, it was the Wachtmeister family who sold agricultural products on the jetty of their palace. Over time, this developed into a flourishing market trade in fish and all kinds of other goods. In the first half of the 20th century, there was even a market hall on the Fisktorget.
