Lago Scuro is a tranquil body of water where peace and nature reign. The origin of this lake is linked to a curious story. On July 26, in many areas of Italy one should not work in the fields, recognizing the protection of Saint Anna in agricultural work.
Legend has it that one day, a long time ago, a family and their workers decided not to respect this tradition and worked in the fields on July 26, St. Anne's Day, since the grain could not wait. While they were in the threshing floor, a loud bang was heard: the earth sank under their feet, swallowing men, animals, grain and equipment. The water began to gush and everything was quickly submerged, forming the lake.
Even today it is said that on the night before July 26th, in the vicinity of the lake, one can hear the sounds of the life of the past buried by the waters: songs, voices and animal noises, reminding farmers to honor the holiday of Saint 'Anna with rest.
