If you stroll from the Orangery through the idyllic Karlsaue in princely footsteps, the artistically designed Aueteich in the south-western part of the park awaits you. Here lies the enchanting Swan Island, crowned by a picturesque little temple. Make sure you look up! The golden ball on the roof of the temple represents Jupiter and is part of the planetary hiking trail that begins with the sun at the Orangery.

There is a beautiful pavilion on the Swan Island.
The Swan Island is located in the Aueteich in the Karlsaue State Park. On the island there is a neoclassical temple from the 18th century with a golden ball on the roof, which is supposed to symbolize the planet Jupiter.

🖐️ Along with the Orangery, Siebenbergen, and the park itself, Swan Island is the highlight of the Karlsaue Park, Kassel's inner-city lung. Which German city boasts such a green oasis of such beauty and size in its city center? I don't know of any. 🤔 Still, it's a huge disappointment. The Egyptian and grey geese seem to have temporarily driven the swans away, at least here. Or? 🦢🦢🦢
