The history of this church begins with a pleasant anecdote. The first church is said to have stood on 'de Lo'. When a new church had to be built, a donkey was released and where it stood, the church would be built.

But back to the facts. The oldest parts of this church are said to date from around 1340. In 1585, a large part of the church went up in flames during the religious troubles of the time. The reconstruction took many years (until about 1620). Further renovations followed, including major repairs around 1900. A century later, a thorough restoration was needed again, so that the St. Lambertus Church now shines beautifully on top of the mountain again.

The eye-catcher in the interior is the beautiful pulpit by Kerricx. Various aspects of the life of Saint Lambert are shown in bas-reliefs, and at the bottom there are also images of Moses and St. John the Baptist, as symbols for the Old and New Testament.
