Memorial to the Victims of the 2015 Sousse and Bardo Terrorist Attacks
This memorial is dedicated to the thirty-one British nationals killed, and others affected, by the terrorist attacks in Tunisia at the Bardo Museum, Tunis on 18 March 2015 and in Port El Kantaoui, Sousse on 26 June 2015. 4
We also remember those from Belgium, Colombia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, and Tunisia whose lives were taken in these attacks.
The memorial, designed by George King Architects, is inspired by the fluid geometry of flowing water, frozen in time. The centre piece is a sculpture titled Infinite Wave which is formed from 31 stainless steel streams, one for each British national who lost their lives in the attacks. Each stream is unique and has its own path that flows with the others to create a single wave form. The individual streams have no end, instead they flow into each other forming a small part of a single much longer continuous loop
The landscape surrounding the senipore continues the theme of water with a series of ripples that now in concentric circles from the centu of the sculpture The ripples represetire the impeat the the attacks in 2015 ha beyond those that lost their lise Thes fupresent ilie survivors, the finnlies ران nabonal heartache and the global loss
