The ruins of the Charterhouse of Oujon are in the middle of the forest. A Charterhouse (Chartreuse in French) is a monastery belonging to the Carthusian Order. It was built around 1146 and is the oldest of its kind in Switzerland. The cellar walls of the various buildings are still visible today, so that you can get a good idea of the size of the former monastery.
