This historic site of a mission that has been converted to a fort is worth seeing. One learns a lot about the Texas War of Independence 1835/36 against the Mexicans, also in the national language. The plant around the fort is in a very good condition. Unfortunately, it is not possible to shoot photos in the mission. So guaranteed a must every visit San Antonio.

The Alamo Mission (“the Alamo” for short) is located downtown and is not only the top attraction in the city, but in the entire state. The five missions of the city of Alamo, San Jose, San Juan, Espada and Conception - summarized as San Antonio Missions National Historical Park - were declared the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the state of Texas on July 5, 2015. From the Mission Concepción, visitors are guided to the next station via parks on both sides of the San Antonio River.

Originally called Mision San Antonio de Valero, The Alamo was built in the 1700's by Roman Catholic Missionaries. Undoubtedly, The Alamo is best remembered as a major battle site in 1836 during the Texas Revolution. Shortly thereafter, the battle cry of “Remember the Alamo” became a national cause.

Audio tour reservations: If you have reserved an audio tour, please visit the Welcome Center before heading into the Church check-in.

30 min for church, then free to have fun (official tour ~2h)
