Wörth Castle on the Danube proudly sits enthroned on a beautiful mountain above the village of the same name. And it should have been doing this since the years 1522 to 1525 - before that there was a medieval castle that was built around 1200. Today you can even visit it, but only as part of a guided tour (stadt-woerth.de/kultur-und-freizeit/sehenswuerdheiten/schloss-woerth-ad-donau/#/de/landkreis-regensburg default / detail / POI / p_884 / schloss-worth-an-der-donau).

The castle towers above Wörth and you can admire it from afar.
Today there is a senior citizens' residence in the castle. Viewing is still possible.
