The Merching Sailing Association (SVM) is an active sailing club on Lake Mandicho, also known as Lechstaustufe 23. The club offers its members and interested parties a wide range of opportunities to practice and learn sailing.
Offers and activities:
• Sailing courses: The SVM regularly organizes sailing courses for adults and children. The “Opti Sailing Course” for beginners and advanced training is particularly noteworthy. A highlight of every sailing season is the multi-day youth camp during the summer holidays.
• Regattas: The club organizes several regattas every year, including the Berthold Stamm Trophy, a ranking regatta for the ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 boat classes. These events attract sailors from the region and beyond.
• Club life: In addition to the sporting activities, the SVM attaches great importance to an active club life. Events such as the traditional lake festival promote cohesion and offer opportunities for exchange among members, families and friends.
Area and infrastructure:
The Mandichosee offers ideal conditions for sailing. The SVM has a club grounds with jetties, club boats and other facilities that are available to members. The use of the lake is regulated by a regulation of the Aichach-Friedberg district, which allows, among other things, sailing boats and windsurfing boards to be used on it.
