The diving gondola is located at the head of the 400 meter long Grömitz pier, which is considered a popular meeting place due to its impressive pier forecourt. The gondola was opened in September 2009 in the Ostssebad Grömitz and has been delighting visitors ever since with the unique underwater view that the Bay of Lübeck has to offer. The diving gondola accommodates 30 visitors and consists of a windowed visitor gondola containing seats and a machine table, as well as a central pillar where it travels into the water and back. In contrast to a diving bell, it is completely closed and designed as a pressure chamber.
