The windmill Wittenburger greets guests and visitors of the small town at the eastern entrance. It was built from 1890 to 1891 and is still a functioning technical monument. At the mill there is a restaurant. Guided tours for groups are available on request. Even though the mill was built in Wittenburg in 1890/91, its history began much earlier. She was previously in Schwerin and was later implemented. During the war, the Wittenburger mill temporarily stopped operation, but was repaired after the war and worked until 1971. Today the Förderkreis Mühle Wittenburg e.V. looks after the technical monument. The mill area also includes a hall house from 1847, an agricultural barn from 1790, an exhibition of historical agricultural implements and a herb garden with a stone oven. Guided tours for groups of 10 or more are possible by prior arrangement. Source: mecklenburg-schwerin.de/reiseziele/staedte-und-orte/wittenburg/hollaenderwindmuehle-wittenburg
