The mural "The Unity of the German Working Class as a Prerequisite for the Effectiveness of its Creative Power and the Founding of the GDR" is located at the former educational center in Halle Neustadt, as is "The Human-Controlled Forces of Nature and Technology."
The futuristic-looking majolica painting (on stone tiles) features Karl Marx at the top, seemingly watching over Neustadt.

The 36-meter-high and 7.25-meter-wide large mosaic consists of 11,136 tiles. During the restoration, hollow tiles were fixed or replaced. Damaged tiles were faithfully replaced using traditional glaze recipes.
The renovations were funded by the Wüstenrot Foundation.
