“ROMAN” FOUNTAIN
Roman, I don’t know exactly Roman. I remember the spring that comes out of the ground from time immemorial.
Everyone calls it “Roman Fountain”, I call it that too! It is certainly ancient but it is difficult to say when it was built, not even the archaeologists, with their research, have succeeded.
Have you seen that particular shape? There are some stairs that lead to an underground basin, in which the water collects. This tells us how precious water was. In fact, once upon a time, it did not reach all homes from the tap and to irrigate the fields there were no modern systems like today. In the past, therefore, these sources were used... and everything was more tiring!
