At its time, this chimney was the highest in Spain at almost 100 meters! He was owned by Los Guindos, a metal mining company (1922 - 1979).
This firm and others on the coast road brought great wealth to Málaga; Málaga was an important industrial city in the first 30 years of the 1900s.
The chimney was restored with the cooperation of the residents of Málaga and is a symbol of the industry of that time.

Base diameter: 8 meters
Top diameter: 4 meters
Thickness of wall base: 1.20 meters
Wall top thickness: 0.25 meters

This chimney, at the time the tallest chimney in Spain at almost 100 metres, belonged to the mineral metallurgy company "Los Guindos". The factory, which began operations in 1922, was used to melt and laminate lead from the mines in the province of Jaén and was in operation until November 1979.

Today this chimney is a striking landmark on the coast of Málaga and a relic of the city's industrial past. It represents not only the history of the Los Guindos district, but also the economic development of the region in the 20th century. The area around the chimney has been integrated into a promenade and is now a popular destination and a great photo point.
