Primordial gods are often snake-shaped beings

Most of the children of the Greek goddess Gaia are snake-like beings - primal forces of life. The primordial gods are described in many mythologies as snake-like or dragon-like beings.

Unlike e.g. in the Indian or Egyptian culture, the serpent-like gods were gradually put aside or destroyed by the Greeks.
