Faochag, the Whelk, is the wonderfully pointed peak seen in the classic view down Glen Shiel from the A87. At 2,982 feet (909 m), it would rank amongst the highest Corbetts but it isn't far enough removed from its parent peak, Sgùrr na Sgine, to qualify.

However, it's a worthy objective and is often included on an adventure to its parent and the neighbouring An Dìollaid (more commonly known as The Saddle), one of Scotland's greatest mountains. The steep north east ridge is generally used in descent and is tough going but provides splendid views across the Five Sisters of Kintail.
