Welcome to Bansin

The seaside health resort of Bansin is surrounded by lots of water and forest. To the north is the Baltic Sea, to the east is the Schloonsee and to the west is an extensive mixed beech forest - this is how idyllically nestled the smallest and youngest of the three imperial spas is. The first bathers were only welcomed here in 1897. From the very beginning, Bansin was designed as a seaside resort and this was done with care, because the villas on Bergstrasse were built on gaps so that the residents in the second row could also enjoy the sea view.

Even today, the villas from the late 19th and early 20th centuries still dominate the townscape and that of the promenade. Whether made of stone or wood, these houses have a soul and their splendor attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Bansin was also the home of Hans Werner Richter. The writer made a name for himself as the founder of the "Group 47". A museum is dedicated to the writer buried in the seaside resort.
