Alpine Crossign is only worthwhile if you can see something, have run in fog and have seen little. Fortunately it was better at the summit and you had a half hour view of the crater and the lakes. Everything gray again on the descent.
Shuttle bus costs 40NZ $ +
Parking spaces at the starting point are only available for a maximum of 4 hours!

The shuttle buses take us here. Traveling by private car or motorhome is difficult because there are no parking spaces.
Because of bad weather I had to spend a day waiting, but it was worth it!!!
This is - along with a hike in Patagonia - the greatest tour I've ever done! Incredibly impressive! The landscape is barren, but always offers new, stunning attractions. The effort is worth it!
