Sebastian Anton Kneipp (born May 17, 1821 in Stephansried in Upper Swabia, died June 17, 1897 in Wörishofen) was known as a hydrotherapist and naturopaths Bavarian Roman Catholic priest. He is the namesake of the Kneipp medicine and the water treatment with Wassertreten etc., which were applied earlier, but only became popular through him.
Pastor Kneipp bases his health education on five pillars: Diet (versatile, tasty, fresh and natural); Order of life (natural life, harmony in the social environment); Water (water applications increase performance and body awareness); Exercise (improves strength, endurance and coordination, reduces stress); Medicinal plants (mild-acting, for responsible self-treatment).
