The Church of San Giovanni Battista is one of the most remarkable buildings in Monterosso al Mare, Cinque Terre. It is a unique example of Genoese Gothic architecture, built between 1200 and 1300. The façade is decorated with black and white marble stripes, typical of this architectural style. A beautiful marble rose window and an 18th-century fresco depicting the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist decorate the entrance door. The church is an important religious and historical monument and invites visitors to admire the ornate architecture and impressive works of art.
