The small mountain town of Leadville is a great basecamp for hikes around and to the surrounding towering peaks. The former gold mining town is located at 10,152 feet and therefore the highest incorporated city in North America. Colorado's highest fourteeners, Mount Elbert and Mount Massive, are just around the corner. Along the Main Street, you can enjoy great food and cafés and there are all kinds of small shops to discover.

Leadville is a popular trail town for hikers along the Colorado and Continental Divide Trail. The well-liked brand Melanzana is based in the town and sells its products in the local shop exclusively.
