Fisherman's Wharf is one of the top tourist attractions in San Francisco as it is home to many of the most popular attractions. For example Pier 39 or The Cannery, an old canning factory owned by Del Monte. Also there is a wax museum and Ghirardelli Square, an old chocolate factory, and Ripley's Believe It or Not!, a curio exhibition.
The district is characterized by restaurants that are known for their fish and seafood specialties. In addition, many shops, galleries and museums have settled. Ferries to Alcatraz depart from Fisherman's Wharf. In addition, other popular destinations such as Chinatown, the cable car turnaround at the end of the Powell-Hyde Line, the Maritime National Historical Park or Lombard Street are in the immediate vicinity. A must in San Francisco. There are many shops for souvenirs and restaurant and snacks for a quick snack in between. You also have a great view of the bay from here.

Fisherman's Wharf: Seafood cuisine, sourdough bread, sea lions and souvenirs abound....
One of San Francisco's most visited neighborhoods, Fisherman's Wharf has become so popular because of one thing: a wide variety of waterfront restaurants serving freshly caught seafood. And yes, there really are fishermen here. Bobbing around the harbor are a handful of weathered boats, still chugging out to sea to catch California crab, scallops, halibut and other seafood in the bay, just as they have for over a century.
Stroll down to Pier 39 to discover even more seafood restaurants, shops, street performers and the area's loudest residents: a barking, roaring throng of sea lions.
