Unfortunately, the tour was over before it had even begun. The first turn-off from the N266 - coming from the "Vale de Carrasquiera" campsite - is closed with a gate. The tour is therefore no longer possible.

A hike in the Serra de Monchique is worth it. Ancient holm oaks, chestnuts and magnolia trees grow on the slopes, there are traditional terraced fields and the charming mountain village of Monchique to see. A climb to the Fóia peak is also worthwhile. From there you have a wide view across the plain to the sea.
