Old farmhouses, orchards full of blossoms, ancient Low German hall houses and even an old village school: the Mueß open-air museum is a window into the past and the reality of life of people in past centuries.

Within the almost 7-hectare village area directly on the southern shore of Lake Schwerin, visitors can view 17 buildings and objects furnished as museums.

In the open-air museum's extensive grounds, exhibitions, plant and craft markets, events with traditional music, Low German theater performances, fairytale puppet shows, seminars, lectures, children's parties and much more take place during the season.

Depending on the season, you can also experience farm animals such as sheep, bees and silkworms. Spend varied hours with your whole family.

We have a playground. On the terrace of the museum café, you can enjoy the smell of coffee, the chirping of birds and nature.

It's worth spending a whole day with us.

Open daily except Mondays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed in winter. It is worth seeing and beautifully situated on the lake. The café is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., there are delicious cakes, coffee and ice cream.
