Walking along Corso Palladio is an almost obligatory route for those who want to visit the historic center of Vicenza, but at the same time fascinating for the majestic buildings that can be admired along the street, the many shops, clubs and cafés where you can find refreshment.
In the city centre, your visit can only pass through the Palladian basilica, the Olympic theatre, the Bissara tower, Querini park, the Salvi gardens, the cathedral of Santa Maria Annunciata, Monte Berico and Monte di Pietà.

The vast area of Piazza dei Signori, site of the Roman Forum of Vicetia, corresponded in the Middle Ages to the Peronius (term found in the fourth book of the Statutes of the Municipality of Vicenza dated 1426, which, according to some, derives from the Latin perones, the wooden and leather shoes sold in the stalls of the market that took place in the square [2]), the center of the political, commercial and social life of the city, formed by the market squares (Piazza dei Signori; Piazza del Vino; Square of the Small Fishes; Piazza delle Biade; Contrada of Le Veture; Contrada di Zudei, today Contrà Cavour) as well as by the municipal buildings present sinceXIII century: Palazzo del Podestà, Palatium Vetus, Palatium Communis, or rather the government buildings and the place where justice was administered.
