This striking villa with the view of a French-inspired castle in neo-Regence style has an Art Deco interior and is surrounded by an enclosed and hedged tree-lined garden. Built (1924-1930) according to a design by the Tournai architect M. Tock.

Because the builder, Auguste Demeestere, was a yarn merchant and representative of the "Soierie d'Obourg", the villa is often called "The Silk Castle"

The fencing with pillars and ironwork as well as all decorative elements of the rotunda and the villa on both the inside and outside consist of the holly motif with its typical spiky leaves and berries, possibly used because of its protective value, good luck charm and the symbolism, namely love and hope.

In 2013, the house was purchased by Mario Polfliet and Brenda Leemans, operators of Brasserie De Post, with the plan to regularly open their property for cultural projects (exhibitions, etc.).
