Very scenic route, at times crossing traffic but mostly far off the busy streets with stretches of what seems eternal fields of wheat and rye. The road between Görne and Strohdehne is breathtaking! With a bit of luck you can see gliders over the airfield on a warm day.

The Havelland cycle path between Havelberg and Berlin is around 130 km long.
The signposted route from Schollene to the Berlin city limits is around 100 km long. The Havelland cycle path should not be confused with the Havel cycle path. The latter is more oriented towards the course of the river, while the Havelland cycle path refers to the landscapes
surrounded by the Havel and Elbe.

The route is mainly on separate cycle paths and cycle streets.
Short sections run on the road (e.g. through towns) or on cycle paths alongside the road. Between Paulinenaue and Bienenfarm airfield, the route runs for around 3 km on a moderately busy country road.
The road surface quality is good to very good. The paths are mostly asphalted. Some shorter sections have concrete paving. Short sections show damage, particularly from tree roots. The route runs along parts of the former Rathenow - Nauen district railway line

The cycle path is well signposted throughout. There are signposts with distance information at important junctions. Since some signposts have been illegally removed, it is advisable to use a current map (e.g. ADFC 1:150,000) or a
GPS track.

Since Havelberg has no rail connection, you can travel from Glöwen (approx. 9 km away,
on the Berlin - Wittenberge - Hamburg railway line).

The end of the Havelland cycle path leads into the Berlin - Copenhagen cycle path.
This provides a direct connection to the center of Berlin.

In Corona times we drove the Havel cycle path to Henningsdorf, from there to Nauen, Paulinenaue, Fehrbellin Rheinberg and back to the starting point. It was not easy to find a suitable place to stay behind Nauen. to find. Ultimately we ended up in Brädikow after more than 100km. Overnight at B + B Karinenhof. 27.- € pp including breakfast. Neat. Remarkable: When we asked on the way where you could eat, the pensioner named and a closed restaurant. To make up for his mistake, he drove us to a restaurant in his car and picked us up again. Not everyone does that.
