A pretty mountain lake, which is idyllically situated at 1,408 meters above sea level - Lac du Taney is a wonderful stop on your hike. The water shimmers deep blue, the peaks of the Grammont and the Jumelles tower imposingly on the shore. At the western tip of the lake you will find a few places to stop and stay overnight. What more do you need?

This is well worth the effort of walking up a very steep road or clambering up a rough path. On reaching the lake the scenery is spectacular and Taney has a few restaurants to chose from or alternatively walk round the lake a little and find a nice picnic spot
