Parish st. Stanislaus Bishop Martyr and St. Anna in Knychówek - a Roman Catholic parish belonging to the Drohiczyn deanery, Drohiczyn diocese, and the Białystok metropolis. The seat of the parish is in Knychówek.
History 15th century The first wooden church in Knychówek was founded around 1460 by Stanisław Korczewski, the staroste of Kamieniec, and his mother Kordula Korczewska, the widow of Praetor (II), the starost of Drohicz. Initially, Knychówek, as well as the entire Korczewo estate, belonged to the parish in Drohiczyn and the diocese of Łuck. Efforts to establish a parish in Knychówek were undertaken by the above-mentioned Stanisław Korczewski, thus entering into a dispute over the tithe with the pastor of Drohicz, Fr. Jan. On May 29, 1493, the Grand Duke of Lithuania Aleksander Jagiellończyk settled the dispute in favor of Stanisław, and in 1494 the church in Knychówek was consecrated. further pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parafia_%C5%9Bw._Stanis%C5%82awa_Biskupa_M%C4%99czennika_i_%C5%9Bw._Anny_w_Knych%C3%B3wku
The construction of the church lasted from 1631 to 1668. It was built in a transitional style between Gothic and Renaissance, according to a design similar to the old parish church in Białystok. The consecration of the temple took place in 1733, and was performed by Fr. Józef Olszański, titular bishop of Serra, suffragan of Chełm.
