Taylor Mountain is a fantastic, small mountain close to Allenspark. One huge benefit of this peak is that unlike in Rocky Mountain National Park, dogs are allowed on the trail. From the summit, which is marked by a stone cairn, you get great views of Mount Meeker, Meadow Mountain, and Twin Sisters Peaks. You can also traverse east to tag the summit of the neighboring Big John Mountain, but there is not an official trail so it can be a little hard to follow.
