Since 1954, the castle cable car, which was extensively renovated in 2000, has been running from Bad Lauterberg city center to the summit of the local mountain. In a double chair, you overcome a height difference of 110 meters in just a few minutes during the ride.
The climb is very steep - with a gradient of 63%, the castle cable car is one of the steepest double chair lifts in Germany. During the ascent, the view is naturally somewhat limited, but later on the journey back to the valley you can enjoy a wonderful view of the town of Bad Lauterberg. The summit of the local mountain also offers interesting views of the famous spa town and its scenic surroundings.

On the local mountain in Bad Lauterberg you can visit the remains of Lutterberg Castle and stop off at the local restaurant. The view of the town of Bad Lauterberg is wonderful.
