The permanent exhibitions of the Natureum can be seen in the coastal museum. The Elbe estuary with its fascinating flora and fauna is the focus of the exhibition “The Elbe River as a lifeline – a bridge between the worlds”. At various stations you can play puzzles, be active (e.g. generate electricity with waves), listen to stories or even guess animal sounds. A very nice and informative exhibition for young and old!
There is also an observation tower on the building. Changing photo and art exhibitions take place here. From the tower you also have a great view of the Elbe estuary and the North Sea.
In the lower part of the building there is also a museum shop and a small café/bistro.

When walking around the lake, you can see both the Elbe and the lake with the holiday park. The path leads between the Natureum and the lake back to the main road to the barrier or to Neuhaus.

The museum stank of French fry grease from the cafe/bistro, especially on the first floor, which was almost unbearable... (on May 25, 2025)
