Fedderwardersiel is located on the Outer Weser and is the only fishing port on the Butjadingen peninsula. The cutters that lie here mainly catch crabs or garnet, as they say about the tasty crabs here on the coast. One or two plaice or sole may be caught in the bycatch.

More and more silt is being deposited in the port of Fedderwardersiel and in its approach. The harbor access channel must therefore be artificially kept clear.
The daily time window for the cutters to leave is very limited due to this siltation.
