The White Point Nature Education Center is located in a renovated former military structure in the White Point Nature Preserve. There are multimedia exhibits that take visitors through the area's cultural and natural history from the Pleistocene age to the present and a California native plant demonstration garden. The White Point Nike Missile Site is adjacent to the education center. This missile site was built in the 1950s to house the Nike-Ajax missile, which was upgraded with a Nike-Hercules missile, which had the capability of being armed with a nuclear warhead.
