The castle Rochsburg, probably founded in the late 12th century, stands on a rocky spur that is surrounded by the Zwickauer Mulde on three sides above the eponymous district of Lunzenau in Saxony. The medieval overall layout and its subdivision into the main castle, a forecourt and two kennels are still clearly visible. In its present appearance, however, the castle comes from late Gothic and Renaissance. Its main building phases date from 1470 and from 1548; It is a significant example of Renaissance architecture in Saxony. For centuries Rochsburg formed the eponymous center in the Saxon office Rochsburg. 🙂☝🏻
