The 'Kwanlin Dün Cultural Center' is a cultural center of the 'Kwanlin Dün First Nation' in Whitehorse. The center is located north of downtown on the 'Chu Nínkwän' (Yukon River) and opened in June 2012. It consists of several buildings, a nave, artists' studios, a gallery, classrooms and an outdoor ceremonial site. The summer months host the Adäka Cultural Festival, an annual multidisciplinary arts and culture festival that celebrates First Nations arts and culture, with a special focus on the Yukon First Nations. Also celebrated here every year on June 21st is the 'National Indigenous Peoples Day' and the 'Shakaat Artist Residency', with the aim of encouraging and supporting indigenous artists of the 'First Nations'. The cultural center is open all year round – Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. kwanlindunculturalcentre.com
