One of the historically important square farms in Grand-Hallet with a former water mill.
The farm, "La ferme Osy de Zegwaart", whose foundation dates from around 1674, has undergone quite a few changes. This is especially true for the main building, of which you can hardly see anything and which overlooks the large park behind the farm.
Other names that are or were used for the farm are the ferme Dochen and ferme Favart. The three names mentioned refer to three families who owned the property. These families were also all related to each other throughout the history of the farm. The Osy de Zegwaart family, owner since 1965, comes from Antwerp (and originally Rotterdam).
The farm is walled on all sides of the street. The main entrance is at the gateway on Rue Mayeur Jules Debras, directly opposite the brown building that was also once a watermill (the course of the Ruisseau du Henri-Fontaine, which is so important to the region, has now been diverted).
At the walled area on Rue de l'Epinette you can also see a chapel that you can enter, but which is unfortunately dilapidated.
